DCS Presents Cross-platform Payment Solution for Mcommerce
Smartphones and other mobile appliances are becoming ever more important as a distribution channel. Aiming to make it easier for merchants to enter mobile e-commerce, Deutsche Card Services (DCS) will present optimised payment pages for mobile appliances at the Mobey Forum in Frankfurt am Main.
In contrast to apps, these payment page modules are browser-based and therefore not limited to a specific platform. They can be used on a number of different platforms, such as iOS by Apple (used by iPhone and iPad), Android by Google (which is used on smartphones and tablets by a number of suppliers, such as Samsung, Motorola, LG, HTC and Sony Ericsson), Symbian by Nokia and the Blackberry operating systems by Research in Motion (RIM), whose appliances are often used by corporate users.
Jens Mahlke, a member of the management board of DCS, said: “A recent GfK study has shown that Germans are a bit more reluctant than others to use mcommerce, but this is certainly a growth market. We are therefore very happy to be the first German acquirer to offer a solution which is not limited to specific network operators, appliance brands or software versions, but works across the system.”
