GFI Software Appoints Daniel Kossmann as CFO

GFI Software, a IT solutions provider for consumers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has appointed Daniel Kossmann as chief financial officer (CFO). Kossmann will be responsible for GFI’s global financial strategy and operations, as well as the company’s information technology, legal and human resources functions. He has more than 30 years experience in financial management and extensive experience in the role of CFO for both publicly-traded and privately-held technology companies. Kossmann will report to GFI Software chief executive officer (CEO) Walter Scott.

Prior to GFI, Kossmann was CFO for master data management software developer Initiate Systems. He joined Initiate in 2008 and led its financial operations through its acquisition by IBM last year. Kossmann also was CFO for e-learning software maker OutStart, overseeing its financial management while the company dramatically expanded its customer base. Before that, Kossmann was CFO and treasurer with ServiceSoft Technologies.

Before joining ServiceSoft, Kossmann was the CFO of Nasdaq-listed Infinium Software. He also served as CFO at DataLogix and National Education Training Group (NETg). Kossmann started his career at Price Waterhouse. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from Niagara University.
