XL Group Appoints Peter Porrino as CFO

XL Group has appointed insurance industry consultant Peter Porrino as chief financial officer (CFO), as the firm’s current finance chief prepares to leave for Time Warner Cable. The global insurer and reinsurer is based in Bermuda. Porrino already works as an outside adviser to XL.

Porrino has worked with the insurance industry for more than 30 years. He has experience with companies than insure against property damage and those that sell reinsurance to offset some of the risk that insurers take on. Since 1999, Porrino has advised insurance companies as head of Ernst & Young’s global insurance business. His previous employers include Zurich Financial Services, where he served as CFO of the company’s US-listed reinsurance subsidiary.
