Rona Appoints Dominique Boies as EVP and CFO
Rona, the largest Canadian distributor and retailer of hardware, renovation and gardening products, has appointed Dominique Boies as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO). Boies will be a member of Rona’s management committee, reporting directly to Robert Dutton, president and chief executive officer (CEO).
Boies holds a Master degree in Science (specialising in finance) from the Université du Québec à Montréal and has more than 15 years’ experience in the business industry. He will be responsible for Rona’s financial orientation and will be in charge of investor relations, accounting, financing, treasury and legal affairs. Boies will join Rona by the end of September.
Over the past five years, Boies held various positions at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, including senior vice president of investments, corporate debt and investment funds groups. He also worked for 11 years at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), where he held several high-ranking positions, including vice president for strategic planning and general manager of the capital markets group. His ability to assess key risks, combined with his strategic management experience and in-depth knowledge of business issues, will effectively round out the expertise of the Rona management committee.
