SIX Group Appoints Niklaus Santschi as CEO of New Payment Services Division

SIX Group has combined its two divisions focused on cashless payment transactions – multipay and cards and payments – from the beginning of 2012. The move will position SIX Group as a provider of all-round payment transaction solutions.

Niklaus Santschi has been appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of the new payment services division and member of the SIX Group executive board with effect from 1 January 2012. Santschi, a Swiss national, has experience in the processing and acquiring side of cashless payment transactions as well as the European markets. Previously Santschi was head of business development and sales within the multipay division and managing director (MD) of SIX Pay since 2008.

Santschi began his career in 1991 at Eurocard (Switzerland). Afterwards, he moved to Payserv, where he was responsible for setting up a European sales and marketing organisation. Following this Santschi was a European sales manager at Telekurs Card Solutions from 2002, and head of marketing and sales and member of the executive board at Telekurs Multipay from 2003. He graduated in economic history and European law in Zurich and deepened his studies in international management at INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
