Barclays Corporate Adds Two to Global Trade and Working Capital Team

Barclays Corporate continues to grow its trade and working capital team with the appointment of Ray Zabarte as head of trade and working capital product management, and Adrian Ow as head of risk weighted asset (RWA) optimisation, trade and working capital.

Zabarte joins Barclays from Standard Chartered where most recently he was global head of receivables and local corporate product management. In addition, during his time at Standard Chartered, Zabarte held roles covering trade product development, documentary trade and supply chain finance, as well as payments and collections in the cash management business.

At Barclays, Zabarte will be responsible for product development and product management activities across the trade and working capital business with the key objective of developing and implementing market leading product capabilities that deliver to client needs and leverage the tremendous product synergies across the group.

Ow joins Barclays in a newly created role as head of RWA optimisation, trade and working capital. In this role, Ow will lead a team to optimise RWA across trade and working capital products and transactions, assessing the impacts of new business initiatives and co-ordinating data collection and regulatory approval efforts of new trade and working capital products.

Based in Singapore, Ow joins Barclays from Standard Chartered where he was responsible for the global transaction banking capital management strategy. Prior to this, Ow was with Accenture financial services and led the business transformation of banks in Asia to be Basel II compliant.
