ION Geophysical Appoints Gregory Heinlein as CFO
ION Geophysical, a provider of geophysical technology, services, and solutions for the global oil and gas industry, has named Gregory Heinlein as its senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Heinlein will assume the position previously held by Brian Hanson, ION’s president and chief operating officer (COO).
Prior to joining ION, Heinlein served as the COO and CFO of Genprex, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Prior to Genprex, he held a variety of senior management positions, including vice president and treasurer and vice president, global sales and marketing, at Freescale Semiconductor, a designer and manufacturer of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, and networking markets. As vice president and treasurer, Heinlein developed a world-class treasury/risk and insurance organisation and led the post-initial public offering (IPO) company through a US$17.5bn leveraged buy-out (LBO).
Prior to joining Freescale, he served as vice president and treasurer at Fisher Scientific International and at Great Lakes Chemical Company, and held various financial positions during a 12-year tenure at The Dow Chemical Company. Heinlein received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Saginaw Valley State University and an MBA in finance from Michigan State University.
