SPX CFO Patrick O'Leary to Retire; Jeremy Smeltser Named CFO
SPX, a global Fortune 500 multi-industry manufacturer, has announced that Patrick O’Leary will retire as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO), effective after the company has completed its report of the second quarter 2012 operating results. Its board of directors has appointed Jeremy Smeltser as CFO, effective immediately following O’Leary’s retirement.
O’Leary joined SPX as CFO in 1996 and was appointed to his current role as EVP and CFO in 2004. He will stay in his current role through the second quarter to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities.
Smeltser has been with SPX for 10 years. He was appointed as a corporate officer in 2009 and currently serves as the CFO of SPX’s Flow Technology segment. Prior to this role, he served as vice president of finance. He led investor relations for SPX from 2003 to 2005.
Smeltser joined SPX in 2002 from Ernst & Young, where he was an audit manager in Tampa, Florida. Prior to that, he held various positions with Arthur Andersen, in Tampa, Florida, and Chicago, Illinois, focused primarily on assurance services for global manufacturing clients. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Smeltser holds a BSc degree in Accountancy and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
