Monthly Comparative Snapshot on European and US MMFs introduced by Fitch
Fitch has introduced a monthly money market fund (MMF) snapshot report comparing US and European MMFs from the credit rating agency’s (CRA) own datastream. The portfolio analytics used to drive the comparative reports will help to assess the safety and liquidity of MMFs asserts the CRA – a key concern for corporate treasurers looking to raise money or protect financial supply chains.
The MMF snapshot provides consistent analytical information allowing data comparison across the Atlantic between different funds, said Fitch Ratings. All the data is based on fund surveillance reports received by Fitch from the fund administrators and fund managers, however, so it is more of a collation service than anything else.
The data is sourced primarily from Fitch’s existing European and US MMF sector update reports and from its global money market fund rating criteria.
