Garuda Indonesia Concludes Multi-million Aircraft Leasing Deal with Standard Chartered
PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) (Garuda Indonesia) has signed multi-million dollar sale and leaseback arrangements for six Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft with Standard Chartered’s aircraft leasing, financing and management subsidiary, Pembroke Group. The aircraft will be leased to Garuda Indonesia by Pembroke Lease France SAS, part of Pembroke Group. The financing facilities for the aircraft have been arranged, underwritten and funded exclusively by Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong.
Pembroke Lease France SAS is also the lessor of four other aircraft in Garuda Indonesia’s fleet, through a previously concluded transaction.
Emirsyah Satar, president and chief executive officer (CEO) Garuda Indonesia, said: “We are pleased with the long-term support of Standard Chartered to Garuda Indonesia. Through Quantum Leap Programme, we intend to double our fleet from current 89 to 154 by 2015 to cater the increasing market demand. The close cooperation with Standard Chartered and Pembroke Lease France SAS will help us achieve our future milestones.”
