Lambeth Council Uses RBS for E-invoicing

Lambeth Council, a local government authority in south London, UK, is now live with the Royal Bank of Scotland’s (RBS) electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) service. This service allows the council to reduce the cost of receiving, processing and paying invoices.

The service means Lambeth Council can further improve services to suppliers, ensuring payments are made on time, with no lost invoices and a clear audit trail. This also includes compliance with Lambeth Council’s purchase order policy for all goods and services.

The e-invoicing service is integrated into Lambeth council’s Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, with all purchase orders and invoices delivered through the RBS e-invoicing hub. The service is fully VAT compliant, so both Lambeth council and their suppliers can rest assured that their documents comply with HMRC rules.

Lambeth cabinet member, Councillor Paul McGlone, said: “The council already performs well on paying invoices on time, and this new initiative allows us a further benefit our supply chain, which includes many small, local businesses in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.”
