Leap Hires Jerry Elliott as EVP and CFO

Leap Wireless International, a provider of wireless communications services, has hired Jerry Elliott as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO), effective 1 May 2012.

Elliott has nearly 25 years of financial and operational experience with both public and private companies, including extensive experience as a CFO with several large companies. In addition, Elliott has significant experience in the wireless and telecommunications field serving as CFO and later as president of Frontier Communications, chief executive officer (CEO) at Global Signal and CFO at Virgin Media. Elliott also recently served as CFO and chief administrative officer (CAO) at the Weather Channel. He also served as chief operating officer (COO) and CFO of Cengage Learning, a digital and print provider of higher education materials.

Elliott graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Accounting and Finance in 1981 and a JD in 1983. He holds an LLM in Taxation from New York University. He has served as chairman or a member of the board of directors of many public and private-equity owned companies including Global Signal, Frontier, nTelos, SunCom Wireless and Tekelec.
