JetBlue Promotes Mark Powers to CFO
JetBlue Airways has promoted Mark Powers to chief financial officer (CFO). Powers has served as CFO on an interim basis since October 2011.
Powers will report to the airline’s president and chief executive officer (CEO), Dave Barger, and will represent finance on the airline’s executive leadership team. As JetBlue’s CFO, Powers is responsible for accounting and controls, audit, investor relations, risk management, and treasury as well as the execution of the company’s financial strategy. Additionally, he is responsible for the company’s fleet-related activities, real estate and sourcing units.
Prior to joining JetBlue in 2006 as vice president – finance and treasurer, Powers was an independent advisor to several aviation-related companies and has held a number of positions in both the finance and legal departments of Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines and GE’s jet engine unit. He was promoted to senior vice president (SVP), treasurer in 2007.
