Rosetta Stone Appoints Thomas Pierno as CFO

Rosetta Stone, a provider of technology-based language learning solutions, has named Thomas Pierno as chief financial officer (CFO).

Pierno will report to Steve Swad, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Rosetta Stone, and will be responsible for all financial functions, including accounting, finance, tax, investor relations and treasury at the firm, particularly its distribution and fulfillment functions in the supply chain.

The ex-CFO at Vertis Communications, a marketing company, Pierno said he is, “looking forward to continuing the development of the finance organisation and working to improve the company’s businesses in the US and abroad”.

Pierno has also served as vice president of financial planning and treasury at software firm, Comverse Technology, and spent 11 years with AOL, latterly as a senior vice president (SVP) and controller, looking after subscriptions and acquisitions. He began his career at Ernst & Young and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
