Deutsche Card Services Acquiring Platform Meets PCI DSS Requirements for Ninth Time

Deutsche Card Services has received the Payment Card Industry (PCI) security certificate for the ninth consecutive time. This certificate confirms that the Deutsche Bank subsidiary ensures the best possible protection against any misuse of sensitive data. The successful certification proves that the security is in line with the strict requirements of the reviewed version 2.0 of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is the benchmark for all organisations that process, store or transmit card information – including merchants.

In 2011, the new version PCI DSS 2.0 was introduced. The new version does not contain any fundamental changes; its main purpose is to flesh out some details, make the standard easier to understand and improve transparency. New rules were introduced for server virtualisation or tokenisation procedures, such as the use of pseudo card numbers at Deutsche Card Services.

Jens Mahlke, a member of the management board of Deutsche Card Services, said: “Security is indispensable in our business, and ensuring security is a central tenet of Deutsche Bank Group. Our platform is not an exception, but a pioneer. It is the first European acquiring platform which was certified under the PCI standard.”
