Square Hires Sarah Friar as CFO
Square, which developed a free credit card reader for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, has hired Sarah Friar as chief financial officer (CFO). Friar was most recently senior vice president (SVP), finance and strategy, for enterprise cloud computing leader salesforce.com.
Before salesforce.com, Friar spent over 10 years at Goldman Sachs in corporate finance, merger and acquisition (M&A) and equity research, and ultimately as business leader for the GS Technology Research group. She previously worked for McKinsey in both London and South Africa. She holds a Masters of Engineering from Oxford and a MBA from Stanford.
