ViaSat Appoints Shawn Duffy as Interim CFO as Ronald Wangerin Resigns
ViaSat, a satellite and digital communication company, has announced that Ronald Wangerin, vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), has decided to resign to pursue other opportunities outside of the company. Shawn Duffy, ViaSat’s vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer (CAO), will lead the day-to-day management of the finance team and assume the role of interim CFO. The company has initiated a search to identify a full time CFO and expects to conclude the search process expeditiously. Wangerin plans to continue as an employee of the company through December 17, 2012 to facilitate an orderly transition of his responsibilities.
Duffy joined ViaSat in 2005 as corporate controller and was appointed the company’s vice president and corporate controller in 2009. She assumed her current position as vice president, corporate controller and CAO in April 2012. Prior to joining ViaSat, Duffy was a senior manager at Ernst & Young, serving the technology and consumer product markets. Duffy is a certified public accountant (CPA) and holds a BS degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Diego State University.
