Murad Names Fred Gysi as CFO
Murad, a science-based skincare line, has named Fred Gysi as chief financial officer (CFO), overseeing the finance and accounting department. He will report to Richard Murad, general manager. In this role, Gysi will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and cash flow management, financial and marketing analysis and strategic planning.
Gysi comes to Murad with 25 years of financial and accounting experience. Most recently, Gysi was CFO for Canon Communications, a trade show and business-to-business (B2B) publishing company. While at Canon, Gysi helped position the company for its successful sale to UBM, a UK-based conglomerate.
Most notably, Gysi was CFO at THQ during a five year period in which the company achieved 45% annual revenue growth and 85% annual profit growth, while increasing market capitalisation from US$100m to US$1.5bn. Other experience includes stints with Deloitte & Touche as partner and CFO of Creativity, an arts and crafts distributor.
Gysi graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Business Administration and received his MBA in Finance/Marketing from the University of California, Los Angeles.
