IRM Reappoints Richard Anderson as Chairman

The Institute of Risk Management (IRM), the London-based trade body that seeks to professionalise the function and educate boards about risk and resiliency, has announced that Richard Anderson has been elected chairman of its board of directors for a second one-year term.

Anderson is managing director, UK at Crowe Horwath Global Risk Consulting, and will undertake his IRM duties in addition to this day job. With resiliency risk an increasing concern for treasurers in the wake of earthquakes in Japan and other disruptions to supply chains, the IRM is thought to be keen to expand its audience.

Two deputy chairs have also been elected. They are Alyson Pepperill, client projects director at Oval Insurance Broking who has also been re-appointed, and Brad Simpson, a senior vice president at Marsh, who is new to the IRM.

“We are delighted to announce that Richard has been elected IRM chairman for a second year,” said IRM chief executive, Steve Fowler, adding that he is confident he will continue to drive forward the trade body’s thought leadership work and attempted positioning of risk management as a key board level issue.
