CLS Group Names Alexander Filshie as CFO
CLS Group, a provider of risk mitigation services for the global foreign exchange (FX) market, has appointed Alexander Filshie as chief financial officer (CFO). He is joining the group’s executive management committee and will report to the chief executive officer (CEO), David Puth.
Filshie, who takes up the position from 6 February, will be based in London. He joins CLS from American Express, where he was the international financial controller for Europe, Middle East, Asia, Canada and Latin America. Previously, he was American Express’ regional financial controller for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He also served as a director on the Board of American Express International.
Prior to American Express, Filshie worked at Barclays as CFO and head of strategy for Africa and the Middle East. He also worked for Standard Chartered in a number of finance functions and began career at Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) and a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
