Carl Rutstein

Carl, a native of Chicago, has spent his career in financial services. He did, however, flirt briefly with the dot.com world when, as part of a BCG assignment in 2000, he served as the first CEO of Orbitz, an online travel company funded by the five major U.S. airlines. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Carl spent three years as an analyst in the M&A and corporate finance groups at Salomon Brothers. He then earned an MBA at the University of Chicago, majoring in analytical finance and graduating with highest honors. Carl joined BCG's Chicago office in 1994.He lives in Wilmette, Illinois, with his wife, Carolyn, and their two daughters.
