Francisco Javier Fernández de Trocóniz is BBVA’s head of global trade finance and international financial institutions, based in Madrid. He took up the position in April 2015 and was previously BBVA’s head of corporate and investment banking for Spain and Portugal. Before that he worked in London, where he was in charge of BBVA Northern Europe global corporate banking.
Fernández de Trocóniz began his career at BBVA predecessor Argentaria in 1992, before its merger with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya in 1999.
