Mike Gilbert

Mike Gilbert, Ph.D. became vice president of marketing at Micro Focus in February 2004. He is responsible for setting the marketing strategy and product marketing efforts worldwide. Prior to this, Gilbert was director of product strategy, a role that he has retained with his expanded role. Gilbert joined the development group of Micro Focus in 1984, and among other innovations, led the team that built the first Object Oriented COBOL compiler. Gilbert has also spent time as a customer services consultant at Micro Focus, and with the Product Management team. Prior to joining Micro Focus, Gilbert led research into programmed nuclear plant safety systems at a UK government research organisation. Gilbert also worked as development manager with Michael Jackson Systems Ltd., a software development methodology company.
