Standard Chartered Appoints Ramesh Swamy as Head of FIs Sales in Asia
Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Ramesh Swamy as head of financial institutions (FIs) sales for south and southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for sales across all financial institutions for foreign exchange (FX), rates and commodities.
In this newly-created role, Swamy jointly reports to David Arnold, regional head of financial markets sales for southeast Asia, and to Adrian Walkling, global head of FIs sales.
Swamy joins Standard Chartered from JP Morgan, where he was most recently head of bank sales for Hong Kong and Singapore and FX product head for Asia-Pacific. Prior to this, he held a number of positions in his 12 years at JP Morgan, including head of sales India, Singapore and Philippines across both FI and corporate sales. Swamy began his career at ICICI Securities with roles in fixed income sales and debt capital markets.
