HSBC Global Payments and Cash Management has appointed Shirley Leong as head of global payments and cash management, Malaysia. In her new role, Leong will be responsible for capitalising on current momentum to further grow HSBC’s franchise in this key market to ensure HSBC clients are provided with the products, services and expertise to achieve their business potential. She takes over from Jason Tan, who was recently appointed as the new regional head of client management in Asia.
Prior to her new role, Leong was senior vice president, head of international business for HSBC Commercial Banking in Malaysia, where she oversaw the international banking team to formulate and implement international business strategies across the franchise. Leong has 16 years of commercial banking experience across a range of product disciplines and segments, including various positions in HSBC, United Overseas Bank and Standard Chartered.
