SWIFT Names Pérez-Tasso as Marketing Executive
The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) named Javier Pérez-Tasso as its new marketing executive. He will be based at SWIFT’s headquarters in Belgium, reporting to new chief executive officer (CEO) Gottfried Leibbrandt who previously held the position.
SWIFT said that in his new role, Pérez-Tasso will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive growth across SWIFT’s business lines. His team will focus on both consolidating SWIFT’s position in core areas, including correspondent banking, clearing and settlement and market infrastructures, as well as its market share in related areas, such as sanctions, reference data, matching and cloud services.
Pérez-Tasso, who has been with SWIFT since 1995, joins the executive committee from his previous role as head of products and services, where he led an international team steering the evolution of SWIFT’s platform. Prior to that, his other positions at SWIFT included head of western Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he built a new team across six offices and contributed to the growth of a region that now accounts for around 35% of SWIFT business.
