SEB and Nordic Banks Launch Mobile Payment Service

Nordic financial services group SEB has launched a mobile peer-to-peer (P2P) service entitled Swish, in cooperation with Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Länsförsäkringar Bank, Nordea, Swedbank and Sparbankerna. Swish is available for iOS and Android devices.

Using the Swish app, users can securely send money to one another in real time using their mobile phone numbers. The Swish service connects those numbers to bank accounts.

“This is a quick, simple and secure way to pay via mobile phone. Through this cooperation with other banks in Sweden, we provide the opportunity for our customers to transfer money seamlessly from their own mobile phones to a bank account,” said Mats Torstendahl, head of retail banking at SEB.
