RBS and NatWest Launch Online Business Supplier Community for UK SMEs

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and its NatWest high street bank subsidiary have launched a free online business supplier community for the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The new online site, titled BizCrowd, comprises a series of noticeboards for a range of different industries. Each board allows users to pitch for service requirements posted by other businesses or post their own, while a feedback facility enables customers in the community to rate registered suppliers and develop a trusted online SME supplier community.

“It has always been the role of the bank manager to connect British businesses to one another, now we’re extending that support online,” said Chris Sullivan, chief executive officer (CEO), corporate banking, RBS & NatWest. “We hope BizCrowd helps as many SMEs as possible raise their profile and win new business.”

BizCrowd is open to all UK businesses, free to join and use, and designed to encourage collaboration, says RBS. Each board has a Twitter account, while the site also has Facebook and Google+ pages and a YouTube channel featuring short videos providing tutorials and advice to firms on practical skills such as giving presentations.
