Emida to Launch Mobile Payments Service in Myanmar

Electronic prepaid services group Emida Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three companies that will enable it to launch mobile payment (m-payment) services in Myanmar.

The three MoU parties with Emida are:

  • Blue Ocean Operating Management (BOOM), a Myanmar-based company offering information and communications technology (ICT) services.
  • Myanmar Technologies Investment Corp (MTI), a Myanmar-based investment company.
  • Oceanic Communications Ltd (OC), a New Zealand-based company offering distribution services in the Pacific and long-term partner of Emida.

Emida now operates in 37 countries throughout North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and Europe.
