SWIFT’s Innotribe chooses Singapore winners for Sibos 2013 Startup Challenge
Innotribe, SWIFT’s attempt to enable collaborative innovation in financial services (FS), has selected its five finalists from the Asian leg of its annual Startup Challenge held in Singapore, to compete at Sibos 2013 in Dubai this autumn.
The startups chosen from Innotribe’s event in Singapore are z-crd, PassportFX, Pocketbook, V-Key and GIEOM. The first is a cloud-based transaction system, while PassportFX is described as an online currency exchange and Pocketbook as a free personal financial management (PFM) tool for wealth management purposes. V-Key is intended to protect mobile applications against cyber-attacks and GIEOM is a software product company that provides business optimisation and transformation solutions and consultancy.
All the firms pitched to venture capital specialists, FS industry participants and SWIFT representatives at the InnovFest event, held in Singapore last week under the auspices of the National University of Singapore. The announced winners will now go up again the London Innotribe winners and the equivalents from the New York event, which will be held in June, at the Sibos 2013 trade show in Dubai this Autumn.
“InnovFest was a great host for the Singapore Startup Challenge bringing together top industry professionals from around the region,” said Matteo Rizzi, a co-founder of the Innotribe. “We have seen some great pitches and the finalists should be proud of their achievements. We wish them the best of luck at Sibos Dubai later this year.”
