Ian Frost joins London finance practice of Vinson & Elkins

The prominent banking and finance partner joins the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

International law firm Vinson & Elkins said that prominent banking and finance partner Ian Frost has joined the firm’s London office, strengthening V&E’s global finance practice. Frost was previously a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. He received his law degree from Oxford University and is admitted to practice in England and Wales. Frost has extensive experience in cross-border transactions and spent seven years working in Frankfurt.

His arrival comes on the heels of private equity partner Paul Dunbar, who joined V&E in February from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. In January, V&E added partner Trevor Wommack to the finance practice in Houston. Wommack focuses his practice on syndicated lending in the energy sector.

The firm’s London office recently relocated to new offices at 20 Fenchurch Street, widely known as the “Walkie Talkie” building because of its distinctive shape.
