TMX Insights names Tom Wadden as head of data science and analytics

The Toronto, Canada-based financial services group said the appointment follows the recent launch of TMX Analytics.
TMX Insights, a division of TMX Market Insights, named Tom Wadden as head of data science and analytics, effective immediately. The appointment follows last month’s commercial launch of TMX Analytics, a cloud-based, real-time equity markets trading data and analysis application.
In the newly-created role reporting to the director of TMX Insights, Wadden will lead a team of experts applying scientific methods to deliver value-added, multi-asset class global data and advanced analytics tools and applications to a wide range of industry clients.
Wadden has managed technical experts for more than 20 years, specialising in using technology as an enabler to drive sound business decisions, new business development and process efficiencies in financial services. He joins TMX Group after 13 years at TD Bank where held several roles in trading, operations and technology; serving most recently as head, centre for operational excellence, corporate technology.
TMX Group is an integrated, multi-asset class exchange group, whose key subsidiaries operate cash and derivative markets and clearinghouses for multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income and energy.
