Finstar Financial Group beefs up M&A capabilities

Finstar Financial Group is further enhancing its merger and acquisition (M&A) capabilities. Paul Muhr, who recently joined the Moscow-based international private equity group, has been appointed to lead Finstar’s M&A and capital markets projects, which “will help Finstar capitalise on the substantial growth opportunities in the financial technology industry.”

Muhr has more than nine years of experience in banking, spending almost seven years in investment banking working on various M&A, initial public offering (IPO) and financing projects for financial institution group (FIG) clients, predominantly banks and consumer finance companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to joining Finstar, he was a vice president at Citi and was previously at Goldman Sachs from 2010-15, based both in London and Moscow. From 2007-10, he worked at Citi in London, where he started his career.
