Standard Chartered has expanded its European financial institutions (FI) team with the appointment of Alexandre Deschâtres as managing director, head of FI for France, Belgium and Luxembourg, and Catharina Hillstrom as head of FI for the Nordics. They will be responsible for managing the bank’s relationships with both bank and non-bank financial institutions clients in their respective region, and delivering tailored banking solutions to support their business needs in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Based in Paris, Deschâtres joins from BBVA where he was successively head of debt capital markets financials, France and Belgium and most recently head of institutional client group, France and Belgium. Prior to BBVA, he was in charge of long-term funding at Dexia, and has previously held coverage and product roles at Credit Agricole.
Based in Stockholm, Hillstrom’s experience spans roles working within both financial institutions and corporates. She joins from Credit Agricole where she spent eight years working within the FI team. She has also previously held treasury roles at Ericsson.
