The new programme continues last winter’s first Nordea Accelerator, where 12 selected start-ups developed their ideas in cooperation with the Nordic bank.
Swedish financial services group Nordea says there will be a further chance for financial technology (fintech) start-ups to accelerate their ideas this autumn. The first Nordea Accelerator programme from last winter, where 12 selected startups developed their ideas in cooperation with Nordea, will be followed by a new programme to run for 12 weeks starting September 2016 and which is now open for applications. The first programme ran in Helsinki; this year star-ups can also choose to work on site at Nordea premises in Stockholm.
The 50 most promising of the applying start-up teams will be invited to a training and selection week in Oslo during August. The best 20-30 start-ups among this group get the opportunity to work closely with Nordea in the autumn. Online applications are open from today at https://nordeaaccelerator.com/ and the closing date is August 7.
Nordea said that the first programme was a success, with all 12 start-ups still in business and flourishing. “The startups received over €600,000 euro in new funding and for two of the start-ups – Jenny and Feelingstream – Nordea is preparing actual pilots where the opportunities for long-term partnerships will be further evaluated,” said Jan Sirich, head of experimentation and learning, Nordea Digital Banking. “Nordea is also working with a couple of the other start-ups for possible cooperation.”
