S&P publishes Brexit data for financial services industry

As the UK prepares to vote on its continued membership of the EU, ratings agency Standard & Poor’s says the future of its financial services industry hangs in the balance.

Ahead of Britain’s June 23 referendum on whether the UK chooses to stay or leave the European Union (EU), Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global Market Intelligence has expanded its coverage to look at different sectors of the financial services industry that may be directly affected by the potential exit.

Figures compiled by the credit ratings agency (CRA) reveal how exposed major investment banks are to the UK market. “As the UK gets ready to vote on its continued membership of the EU, the future of the country’s financial services industry, a major employer, hangs in the balance,” comments S&P.
