WorldRemit waives fees on Haiti money transfers

Zero fees will apply to donations sent to the island in the wake of Hurricane Matthew for the rest of this month.

Digital money transfer service WorldRemit is offering zero fee money transfers to Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. Customers wishing to send money to the island can send donations with no service fee applicable and the relief initiative will run to 31 October 2016. With the WorldRemit app or website, donors can send money to be picked up as cash at Unitransfer locations throughout the country – detailed list of cash pick up locations can be accessed here.

Remittances play a vital role in providing relief to communities affected by natural disasters,” said WorldRemit founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Ismail Ahmed. Customers can use the code ‘HAITI16’ to send no-fee money transfers to Haiti.
