SIX Payment Services equips Swiss Post

The company was awarded the contract to supply new payment terminals in November 2015 and has completed the rollout ahead of schedule.

Card processing group SIX Payment Services has completed a contract to supply Swiss Post with new payment terminals, with the rollout completed several months ahead of schedule.  The new terminals, which it describes as among the most innovative ones on the market, are made by French electronic payments technology specialist Ingenico and accept all major debit and credit cards.

In November 2015, SIX Payment Services was awarded the contract to replace approximately 5,000 payment terminals along with a multi-year agreement for acquiring (card acceptance) by Swiss Post. The new smart terminal iSC250 was adapted to the needs of the Swiss Post and goes beyond the handling of payments. For example, post office transactions can be processed with it and the required signatures made directly on the touch screen.

The rollout in Switzerland began last summer and was scheduled to continue to April 2017, but the project was actually completed in November 2016.
