Falcon Group hires former Barclays working capital head

The specialist financier said the appointment of Avner Brunner will boost its business development in London.

Global specialist financier Falcon Group has appointed Avner Brunner as business development manager for Greater London. He will spearhead the group’s efforts to provide a unique offering to exporters and importers across the capital. Brunner joins from Barclays where he gained extensive experience in providing trade finance and working capital to companies across a range of sectors such as commodities, retail, media, aviation and engineering. Prior to joining Barclays, Brunner held a regional business development role with HSBC.

In addition to expanding its UK business development team, Falcon has partnered with the government’s UK Export Finance (UKEF) and global insurance broker, Aon, in an effort to assist UK businesses seeking export and import financing solutions. “The fact that appetite for British business is so strong internationally creates ample opportunities for UK companies to explore their global growth agendas,” said Will Nagle, the group’s chief executive officer (CEO). “What they need is funding and resources.”
