FinTech Association of Hong Kong launches

The non-profit association is inviting start-ups and individuals as well as global financial institutions and service providers to become members.

The FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK), an independent, not-for-profit, member-driven organisation that will act as “the voice of the fintech community in Hong Kong”, has officially launched. FTAHK said that it would reflect Hong Kong’s entrepreneurial character and its members range from “promising start-ups and passionate individuals to global financial institutions and service providers”.

The association is organised and led “by the community for the community” through a series of committees focused on key sectors including blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, payments, regulatory technology (regtech) and financial literacy. FTAHK adds that it will help power Hong Kong’s further development as a major fintech hub with three main goals:

  • Advocate – create the unified voice for the Hong Kong fintech ecosystem.
  • Collaborate – bring together the diverse parts of the community.
  • Educate – learn from existing leaders and nurture the next generation of talent

Further information on the association and becoming a member is available at https://hkfintech.org/
