A digital course offering an introduction to financial technology (fintech) and which has been taken by more than 100,000 employees of Barclays is being offered to financial professionals and general members of the public.
The course, which costs US$90 and can be accessed on any device, was developed by 42courses and Barclay’s fintech arm, Rise. It provides insights from industry leaders such as TransferWise, The Bitcoin Foundation, Monzo, Barclays’ own head of innovation, Michael Harte and Rise’s head, Lubaina Manji. In addition to the basics of fintech, it includes chapters on virtual currencies, payments, alternative loans and financing, insurance technology (insurtech), retail banking and the future of fintech.
