Assetz Capital appoints new chief risk officer

Assetz Capital has recruited Chris Macklin as its new chief risk officer.  Macklin has more than 35 years’ experience at RBS and NatWest, where he held senior roles such as head of complex customer management and regional director for real estate finance and commercial banking. In his new role, Macklin will be responsible for all the risk management operations in the company and oversee the existing risk management framework.

Commenting on Macklin’s appointment, Assetz Capital CEO and co-founder Stuart Law said: “We always want to lead the P2P market when it comes to risk management – we know that this rigor ultimately benefits both our investors and borrowers. With Chris’ appointment, we are aiming to go further and establish the best practice standard in the wider alternative finance industry.”

Barclays appoints new global head of trade and working capital

Barclays as hired James Binns as global head of trade and working capital, succeeding Baihas Baghdadi. Binns will take up the office this week. Prior to this role, he worked at Deutsche Bank, where he had served as global head of cross product solutions and cash management since 2014. He previously worked at HSBC and held various trade roles across a number of locations.
