AFP 2019 keynote speakers announced

Thought leaders will share insight and wisdom at treasury conference in Boston later this year.

Robin Roberts and Fareed Zakaria have been announced as keynote speakers for this year’s AFP 2019 Conference in Boston.

Roberts, the Emmy Award winner and co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, will be the opening speaker at AFP 2019, which takes place from October 20-23 – and will focus on the life experiences she gained while covering the lives of today’s top newsmakers.

Roberts’ personal experiences have shown that true strength about conquering life’s challenges on your own. Rather, it’s when you accept the help of others that you realize you are stronger together. Delivering a powerful message of perseverance, Roberts is a symbol for bringing your individual circumstances and talents to the table to accomplish great things.

Forces of global disruption

Zakaria, host of Fareed Zakaria GPS for CNN Worldwide and a bestselling author, will be the Tuesday morning keynote speaker at the annual event, where he will speak about navigating the forces of global disruption.

From the volatility of the financial markets to the innovation trends impacting the future of work, treasury and finance leaders must be prepared to navigate a rapidly changing, complex landscape. Drawing on his conversations with the top political, business, and intellectual leaders of our time, Zakaria will provide observations into the geopolitical and economic risks impacting attendees, their organizations, and the global economy.

Previously announced as a speaker for AFP 2019 is Joichi “Joi” Ito, an author, activist, entrepreneur, venture capitalist and scholar focusing on the ethics and governance of technology. His keynote, Whiplash: How to Survive Our Faster Future, will discuss how to survive the future, individuals and organizations must first change their perspectives and why this requires dispensing long-held assumptions about governing institutions.
