Treasury tech update: CME, ION and more

(Sept 1) CME Group and IHS Markit have established a joint-venture company, OSTTRA. The new company will provide post-trade services for FX, equity and credit for OTC markets. Each organisation will own 50 percent of the new firm which will be headquartered in London.

(Sept 1) Payments Canada has rolled out Lynx, a real-time payments network for high-value transactions. It will replace the 20-year-old Large Value Transfer System. A second “release” in late 2022 will allow the RTP network to support ISO20022 messaging.

(Sept 8) Morningstar has acquired Moorgate Benchmarks, a privately owned index provider. The acquisition aims to improve and accelerate Morningstar’s own indices offerings in Europe.

(Sept 10) ION has acquired financial research firm Clarus. Through ION Markets, Clarus data will provide analytics products under a SaaS model for real-time margin and risk management for both cleared and uncleared OTC derivatives.

(Sept 23) Payments fintech Circle has integrated with data network Plaid. This partnership will enable easier and faster ACH payments. Circle clients will also now be able to connect their bank accounts without needing to share routing or account numbers.

(Sept 28) Eka Software has launched Eka Treasury Management, a cloud-based treasury management solution. The new TMS will help to centralise company data, enabling faster/real-time visibility of cashflow, liquidity and FX risk.
