Welcome, to the tenth edition of The Global Treasurer’s Transaction Banking Survey, again proudly supported by CGI.
Corporates and their banking partners have had to grapple with one set of problems or another in recent times, with the aftereffects of the pandemic now being felt in 2022 through fluctuating inflation, rising rates, and a general sense of uncertainty among business partners and customers.
Technology is here to lighten the load, but questions are being raised by corporates and banks here too: there is fear of the known and fear of the unknown, with legacy systems increasingly unfit for purpose and the move to working more constructively with third parties presenting potential regulatory, implementation and servicing difficulties.
As we surveyed banks and corporates for this year’s report, pressure was growing on the market to perform. Still, we found corporates keen to deal with short-, medium-, and long-term strategies and banks looking to facilitate in accordance with their strengths as the events of the past few years have hardened participants to double down and make astute decisions.
