Alico Hires Scott Whitney as CFO

Alico, a land management company, has hired Scott Whitney as chief financial officer (CFO), effective 27 September 2010. Whitney will be responsible for all corporate finance, treasury and accounting functions for Alico and its subsidiaries.

Most recently Whitney was senior vice president (SVP) and CFO for Bonita Bay Group, a diversified company involved in the planning, development, sales and management of master-planned communities and commercial developments. Prior to this, he held similar positions with Damon Custom Structures, a state-certified general contractor specialising in custom waterfront homes throughout southwest Florida; Bedford Property Investors, a real estate investment trust; and WCI Communities, a developer of lifestyle communities.

Whitney holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from Northern Illinois University.
