Thales Joins Cloud Security Alliance
Thales, an information systems and communications security compnay, has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a not-for-profit organisation of experts focused on best practices and education around the security of cloud computing.
Thales will contribute its expertise in network encryption, storage key management and application level security to the CSA’s initiatives and working groups to further the alliance’s goals of developing and promoting security best practices for cloud computing.
“Cloud computing continues to gain momentum as economic pressure drives organisations to reduce costs, however privacy concerns and regulation over sensitive data mean that security in the cloud is a very real issue,” said Franck Greverie, Thales vice president in charge of information technology security activities. “Cloud security relies on data centric protection – confidentiality, integrity and authentication – all of which are underpinned by cryptography. As a member of the CSA, we look forward to contributing our expertise in cryptography and data protection to develop best practices for organisations looking to move to the cloud.”
