Carphone Warehouse Achieves SEPA Compliance Ahead of Schedule

UK mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse said that it has achieved single euro payments area (SEPA) compliance in advance of the 1 February 2014 deadline for migration by automating its entire direct debit collection process.

Automic is delivering an end-to-end software as a service (SaaS) which has given the Carphone Warehouse management team visibility into the collection process. With automatic checks performed at every stage, Automic’s solution is targeting a reduction in direct debit failures of 90% and the company has been selected by the retailer to be a part of its ‘Connected World’ initiative.

“We have huge aspirations for ‘Connected World’ from Carphone Warehouse,” said David Byrne, enterprise architecture director, Carphone Warehouse and chief information officer (CIO), ‘Connected World’. “We see it as enabling retailers, original equipment manufacturers and network businesses around the globe to leverage all the expertise and processes that we have built into our operations over the last 24 years.

“Automic’s automation platform is part of the software product that we have developed that implements this knowledge which we are now offering customers of ‘Connected World’ all over the globe.”
