TSYS and China UnionPay to Present at International Acquiring Forum
Total System Services (TSYS), the largest processor of merchant acquirers and bank credit card issuers, has been chosen along with major payment industry players in China (CUP Data, UnionPay International [UPI] and UnionPay Merchant Services [UMS]), to present at the International Acquiring Forum, on 17-19 September.
The overall theme of this first-year event is ‘Realities of the New Payments Marketplace’. Executives from TSYS and China UnionPay (CUP) will lead a panel discussion on the historical growth in China, as well as outline the critical roles played by each of the CUP organisations and how they see the future opportunities within, and beyond, the Chinese payments industry.
Kelley Knutson, executive vice president of TSYS International, will provide a processor’s perspective on current economic trends in China, as well as opportunities and challenges within the market as a partner of CUP Data. Larry (LiXin) Wang, chief business development officer for UnionPay International, will follow, further elaborating on the UPI business model and the partnerships they have leveraged to expand the UnionPay brand across the globe.
Finally, RongLi Guo, chief financial officer (CFO) for China UnionPay and Chairman of UnionPay Merchant Services, will close the session by providing insight into the existing merchant landscape in China and how UMS views the future of payments in the high profile Chinese market. This inaugural conference will address the importance of globalisation in the acquiring industry by bringing together thought leaders from around the world to discuss strategic challenges, business trends, and the future of payment acceptance.
