Standard Chartered boosts Europe transaction banking team

Standard Chartered is boosting its transaction banking team in Europe with two new promotions.

Standard Chartered is boosting its transaction banking team in Europe with two new promotions. Francesco Miccoli is now head of financial institutions and Owen Davies assumes the role of head of implementation and client management on the team. Both will report into Richard Jaggard, who heads up the division, and will be part of the regional business leadership team. The appointments follow new positions in its Nordic and German divisions as the bank looks to offer more support for its European corporate clients.

Francesco Miccoli joined the bank in 2008 and was appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Italy three years later where he oversaw the bank’s Southern European clients. He will continue as CEO and will now also manage those clients’ transaction banking needs. Owen Davies joined the Transaction Banking team last year, before which he spent 17 years at Citi working in treasury and trade solutions. He will now be responsible for the bank’s European client management strategy and a core member of the global management team.
